An efficient series solution for coaxially fed monopoles in a shorted parallel‐plate waveguide is presented. The analysis is based on mode‐matching and image method. A coaxially fed monopole in a shorted rectangular waveguide is considered as a special case. Computations are performed to verify the validity of solution. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
