This study presents an efficient method for the analysis of thick metal screens perforated periodically with apertures (inductive frequency selective surfaces). The analysis is based on the Method of Moments with entire‐domain basis functions. The peculiarity of the proposed approach is the particular calculation of the basis functions in the case of arbitrarily shaped apertures. The method is validated through the comparison with published data and is applied to the design of a new dual‐band filter. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
