We present a novel approach of millimetre wave power generation using active microstructured nonlinear transmission line (NLTL) oscillators consisting of a periodic array of resonant tunneling diodes (RTDs). RTD‐NLTLs resonators have been measured to operate as distributed oscillators up to 50 GHz with power output up to −10 dBm. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
