Microstrip diplexer using Koch fractal shape is proposed for the first time. By constructing the microstrip coupled‐lines in Koch fractal shapes, the second harmonic of the fractal microstrip diplexer can be significantly suppressed and, higher the iteration order of the fractals, the more apparent this effect becomes. In this paper, a fractal‐shaped microstrip diplexer for 3G wireless communication system is designed, fabricated, and measured; the measurement results verified the proposed method. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
