In this article, a novel wideband cularly‐polarized serial rotated 2 × 2 circular patch antenna array is presented. The patches are excited sequentially by a broadband feed network. It is found that the antenna array can deliver a measured impedance bandwidth of 46.6% for SWR < 2, 3‐dB axial‐ratio measured bandwidths of 40%, and the measured bandwidth of 70.1% for the gain > 3 dBi. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
