This article derives simple CAD inductance formula of double‐level spiral inductors by analytical moment method, synthetic asymptote, and the duality of inductance and capacitance LC = μ 0 ε 0 of the transmission line theory. The main contribution of this article is the mutual inductance calculation of the upper and lower spirals. Compared with IE3D, commercial software by Zeland, the average error of inductance is generally less than 2% with maximum error of 5%. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
