New, accurate closed‐form formulas for the synthesis of multilayer homogeneous coupling structure (MHCS) are presented. They are obtained by using a differential evolution algorithm (DEA), and are useful for the computer‐aided design (CAD) of MHCS. The average percentage error is found to be 0.38% for 1825 MHCS samples having different electrical parameters and physical dimensions, as compared with the results of the quasi‐static analysis. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
