A novel frequency‐adjustable ultra wideband antenna with coplanar waveguide‐fed is proposed and the design formula is presented. The optimized antenna presents 6.7:1 ratio bandwidth and 148% impedance bandwidth for the return loss less than −10 dB. The bandwidth can be changed through adjusting the slice of partial‐circular patch. Also, the numerical sensitivity analysis for different dimensions has been done. Good agreement between the measurement and simulation has been achieved. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
