This letter presents a microstrip circulator topology with a rectangular ferrite region. Optimized networks are designed to maximize transducer power gain and to satisfy the perfect circulation condition with a 50 Ohm termination. The design is validated with measured data showing that 20% bandwidth centered at 10 GHz with a 14 dB isolation specification is achievable. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
