In this paper, the radiation field of a rectangular microstrip antenna is calculated considering four edges of the antenna. The present method is based on expressing the radiated field, the radiation power, and the power losses in terms of the feeding voltage, and then developing an expression for the input resonance resistance of the antenna at resonance. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
