The effects of embedding SRR into a substrate of microstrip line are investigated, in particular in transmission. The simulation and experimental results show band‐stop property of the device. Also, reduced radiation loss and device volume are achieved by applying the image theory from a symmetric SRR. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
