In this article it is shown, how, using the load/source pull method to generate the current/voltage waveforms of a class‐F power amplifier, the optimum load, and source impedances at the first three harmonics are obtained. Novel harmonic controllable matching networks are then used to obtain the required impedances, thus improving the power‐added efficiency to 70.4%. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
