Experiment provides the most convincing justification of numerical studies. A frequency selective surface (FSS) with Type‐2 gangbuster array is fabricated and measured. The measurement results agree well with numerical results. An FSS with regular y‐directed dipole array is also fabricated and measured. The bandwidth of the former is observed much wider than that of the latter. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
