Method of designing a modified Chebyshev bandpass filter with controllable transmission zeros in the stopband is described. A novel compact structure of this kind of filter with a transmission zero located at higher stopband for low temperature co‐fired ceramic implementation is proposed. The filter has promising potential applications in miniaturized wireless communication systems. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
