A simple T‐shaped slot antenna for dual‐band wireless local area network (WLAN) application is presented. The T‐shaped slot fed by a rectangular patch produces two resonant frequencies for 2.4‐GHz‐band and 5.2‐GHz‐band operation. The measured impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna are 650 MHz centered at 2.51 GHz and 640 MHz centered at 5.29 GHz for VSWR[b]≤2, and the measured gains are better than 4.55 and 5.24 dBi for both bands, respectively. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
