Delay lines based on the left‐handed transmission line (LH‐TL) structure are designed and fabricated. Comparisons of the simulation and experimental results demonstrate validity of the present design. It can be found that the LH‐TL time delay lines possess higher delay efficiency and more compactness than the traditional ones consisting of the right‐handed transmission line (RH‐TL). © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
