A methodology combining a time‐domain equivalent currents method and the finite‐difference time‐domain technique is presented to analyze guidelines compliance in human exposure to electromagnetic fields from base‐station antennas in the presence of large scattering obstacles. The efficiency of the method is demonstrated when analyzing the specific absorption rate in people exposed to those antennas. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
