A material reflector composed of a metallic ground plane, resistive sheets and, if necessary, elongated rails along the edges of the sheet reflector is presented. The optimized design achieves a front‐to‐back ratio greater than 30 dB with minimal change in pattern beamwidth. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
