In this paper, we propose a frequency‐notched ultra‐wideband (UWB) slot antenna. The proposed antenna can cover the entire UWB band and the IEEE 802.11a frequency band can be notched out by inserting a hat‐shaped slot into the antenna. The path loss |S 21 | and group delay are measured and discussed. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
