We investigate experimentally the effect of eyeglasses with metallic frames on the field emitted by a cellular phone antenna. Our results, validated by numerical modelling, suggest that the coupling can locally enhance the field up to high values. This calls for further analysis, in order to prevent a possible health hazard. © Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
