A novel, inexpensive technique for the detection of concealed metal objects is presented and discussed. It is shown that an indirect holographic method, usually employed at optical frequencies, can be adapted to image objects at microwave frequencies. The practical results successfully demonstrate that this technique can be used to determine the location and shape of the concealed object. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
