A calibration method able to subtract the response of the connector in the measurement of the reflection coefficient of monopolelike antennas is presented. The method uses a set of straight monopole antennas as reference loads for calibration using a vector network analyser. The experimental example of a double‐iterated fractal Koch monopole confirms the effectiveness of the technique proposed. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
