We present an all‐optical label processor based on self‐polarization rotation in a semiconductor optical amplifier. The operation principle is experimentally demonstrated. The results show a label‐and‐payload‐suppression ratio higher than 20 dB and clear synchronization pulses for further processing. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
