It is shown that the lower edge of the impedance bandwidth of a plate monopole may be reduced by corrugation. The dependence on corrugation angle and period is investigated. Radiation‐pattern dependence is also examined. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 46: 168–170, 2005; Published online in Wiley InterScience (www.interscience.wiley.com).
