Printed dipoles are studied analytically and simple closed‐form formulas for the real and imaginary impedances are presented. The formulas explain the printed‐dipole impedance as a function of the substrate thickness and permitivity. The analytical results show good agreement with the numerical and experimental ones. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
