This paper proposes a novel planar antenna for ultra‐wideband (UWB) applications, which has a voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of less than two and is exempt from interference with existing wireless systems with band‐notched characteristics. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
