In this paper, a miniaturized bow‐tie‐shaped meander‐slot antenna is proposed to achieve wideband characteristics. In general, conventional bow‐tie slot antennas have broadband characteristics, while meander‐type slot antennas have relatively small size. The proposed antenna geometry is a variation of the meander‐slot antenna, incorporating the bow‐tie shape to realize a miniaturized antenna having a relatively large bandwidth. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
