The spatial Green's functions of multilayered microstrip antennas are calculated using the two‐level discrete complex image method (DCIM). The selection of the integration path and the expansion function in two‐level DCIM is analyzed, and a novel integration path is presented, which can be used to compute the spatial Green's functions of microstrip structure fast and accurately. The proposed method is validated through its application to accurately calculate the spatial Green's functions of a five‐layer microstrip structure. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
