In this paper, two L‐shaped slots are introduced in order to obtain triple‐band operation with a planar monopole antenna fed by a 50Ω coplanar waveguide (CPW) transmission line. Prototypes of the proposed antenna with sufficient bandwidths in the 0.9‐, 1.8‐, and 2.15‐GHz bands for GSM, DCS/PCS, and IMT‐2000 systems, respectively, have been constructed and tested.
