Nonuniform bidefected ground structures (NB‐DGS) are introduced in this paper. By using NB‐DGS, compact frequency‐selective microstrip lines (FML) are designed and measured. The measurements demonstrated a 30‐dB coupling reduction for three‐port FML and a 25‐dB coupling reduction for intersecting FML. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
