A four‐element diversity‐antenna array using four dielectric‐loaded folded‐loop antennas in a personal digital assistant (PDA) terminal operating at 5.2 GHz for the multiple‐input multiple‐output (MIMO) application is introduced. The S ‐parameters and the radiation patterns of the antennas are assessed using a finite‐integration technique (FIT) simulation and experimental measurements. The diversity performance is also evaluated by calculating the envelope‐correlation coefficients and the mean effective gain (MEG) of the antennas. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
