The design methodology and measured performance of a broadband UHF class‐F power amplifier is presented and compared to that of a typical narrowband class‐F design. The realized broadband circuit achieves 65% of power‐added efficiency with 21 ± 0.5‐dBm output power from 575 to 915 MHz, corresponding to a relative bandwidth of 45%. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
