A low‐voltage fast‐switching frequency synthesizer at 2.4 GHz is presented. The phase noise is analyzed and measured to be −96 dBc/Hz at 100‐KHz offset. The measured spectral purity is also good. This synthesizer can be used for frequency‐hopping spread‐spectrum applications. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
