In this paper, we employ the hybrid finite difference–moment method to predict the shielding effectiveness (SE) of a metallic enclosure with multiple apertures. The numerical results for various aperture configurations using the hybrid technique are presented and validated. It is found that a good practice to improve the shielding effectiveness of metallic enclosures is to divide a large aperture into several smaller ones. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
