In this paper, gas pressure sensors embedded in high‐pressure fittings are developed. The sensors are based on Fabry–Perot interferometry and can be used to precisely monitor the gas‐pressure change. In this paper, we discuss the operating principle of the developed sensors and present some results of their applications in the pressure monitoring of nitrogen gas. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
