A full‐wave analysis of TM modes (dispersion characteristics and field configurations) is presented for industrial devices able to heat pipes filled with lossy fluids such as water. These results are obtained by a numerical simulation based on the residue theory. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
