Abstract A novel compact narrowband bandpass filter (BPF) using coplanar waveguide (CPW) with an efficient slow‐wave structure is presented. The folded open stub is used as loaded structure for the filter design with the merit of better slow‐wave factor. Additionally, this filter achieves a sharp transition band (TB) and 5% bandwidth at 2.4 GHz with 60.67% reduced factor. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
