In this paper, a millimeter‐wave ×4 subharmonic mixer has been designed and fabricated. The cascode 4 th ‐harmonic generator is proposed for high conversion gain. The measurement of an LO power of 13 dBm shows a conversion gain of 3.4 dB, which is one of the best conversion gains at 60.4 GHz. Isolations of LO to IF and LO to RF were obtained −53.6 and −46.2 dB, respectively. The high conversion gain achieved in this work is the first to be reported among millimeter‐wave subharmonic mixers. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
