Multiband elements based on the self‐similarity of fractals may have differing radiation patterns between operating bands due to the leakage of current between scales in the geometry. A multiband Sierpinski element has been designed using embedded filters to achieve similar radiation patterns over various operating bands. This multiband element is incorporated into the design of a dual‐band Yagi antenna. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
