A variable‐gain amplifier for an adaptive antenna at the ISM band is presented. The amplifier consists of three stages and has a digital control. The device is made on a printed circuit board. The amplifier's maximum gain, noise figure, and output compression point are 31.2 dB, 5 dB, and 8.6 dBm, respectively. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
