A mechanically tunable microwave band‐stop filter, in which tunability is achieved via a movable dielectric substrate incorporating a conductive ring element is proposed. Experimental results, which are corroborated by numerical analysis, are presented that demonstrate wide tunability within the X‐band frequency range. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
