In this paper, ultra‐wideband arrays using interconnected transverse electromagnetic (TEM) horns are studied. The paper analyzes the radiation characteristics of four‐element arrays using the finite‐difference time‐domain (FDTD) method. The computed results for arrays are compared with those for the single TEM horn and two‐element array. Some properties of the four‐element array, such as the input impedance, voltage standing‐wave ratio, and energy pattern, are presented in this paper. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
