Abstract We show, in this paper, the results obtained in the sterilization process by using different irradiating structures. Starting from our earlier findings of the existence of an important synergy on the killing effect caused by the simultaneous application of oxidant agents such as hydrogen peroxide and microwave irradiation, we have now extended the work to identify the power threshold and the optimum frequency range for the effect. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
