A dielectric resonator antenna of triangle shape is examined numerically and experimentally. The geometry is an equilateral triangular dielectric volume over a ground plane, and is excited by a coaxial probe to provide a broadside radiation pattern. An approximate expression is used to compute the resonance frequency. Results are verified experimentally and numerically. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
