In this paper, a novel high‐order method‐of‐moments solution of the electric‐ and magnetic‐field integral equations is presented. It is shown that, after choosing a smooth set of basis and testing functions, a simple transformation can be performed rendering a point‐based discretization of the integral equation at discrete quadrature points. Through numerical studies, it is shown that the proposed method results in exponential error convergence of the RCS for smooth three‐dimensional scattering structures. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
