The wide intersector coverage overlap and sidelobes of antenna radiation in mobile communications result in irregular handover and unwanted interference. This paper employs techniques based on the application of resistive plates to reduce the interference and enhance the performance by guiding the power to where strong signals are required. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
