A novel folded Koch monopole antenna printed over a wireless device's ground plane is presented. Due to its favorable characteristics, the element was further considered for the implementation of a two‐branch diversity system and proved to achieve a good diversity performance under both switched and combining schemes. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
