In this paper, a behavioral model of a noisy oscillator, which allows system simulation with CAD tools and implementation in hardware description languages, is presented. A procedure to extract the parameters of the empirical model from noise measurements, performed by means of a circuit simulator, has been proposed and successfully applied. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
