A new configuration of a three‐port rectangular microstrip power divider and coupler has been proposed. It can easily implement unequal power division of a large ratio, i.e., the power coupled to the third port can vary from −3 to −26 dB. The configuration has been analyzed using a transmission‐line model, as well as method‐of‐moments‐based software. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 29: 219–223, 2001.
