There are many engineering problems currently in practice in which the phase of reflection coefficient is unknown or varies. This paper presents a reflection coefficient theory for lossless broadband matching networks and describes its limitations and band inequalities. An example matching problem is given in the end of the paper. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
